Occluded Front

There are two cold air fronts on each side and warm air comes and gets pushed up each side of the cold fronts and creates a cloud and rains.

Stationary Front

When a stationary front happens, an equal amount of cool air and warm air fight against each other and they move back and forth equally and create a storm cloud and it rains.

Warm front

When a warm front occurs there's cold air and then warm air starts o come in against it and pushes the cold air over and up and then the warm air goes up slowly and creates a cloud and starts to rain.

Cold Front

When there's a cold front, what happens is there's warm air, and then cold air comes in and makes the warm air rise and they're opposite from each other and the cold air stays low to the ground and it creates clouds and then it rains.

Greenhouse Gases

A greenhouse gas is a gas in the atmosphere tat traps energy. People and animals should be concerned about this. Because people are contributing to global warming it's making more greenhouse gasses, which is heating up the Earth. It is melting the ice in Arctic which is bad for the animals that live there. It's also just heating up everywhere andis making living on Eath more and more hard and miserable. Greenhouse gasses need to decrease, and people can help by contributing to Global warming.

YAY OBAMA!!!!!

Acid Rain

Acid Rain is more acidic than normal rain. It is one of the many kinds of air pollution. When coal burns it releases a lot of sulfur oxides into trees and sleet, snow, fog, and dry particles carry nitrogen oxides and sulfur oxides into trees and lakes. When acid rain becomes very strong it can damage surfaces of statues, buildings, cars etc. The water in ponds and lakes can become so acidic, that plants, amphibians, fish, and insects suffer and die. To make the acid percentage go down people could burn less coa. We need to contribute to more rain and less Acid rain.

Earth's Atmosphere

Earth's atmosphere is contains many elements that most planets don't have. The atmosphere is made up of oxygen, nitrogen, carbon dioxide, water vapor, and particles of liquids and solids. The atmosphere has one percent of other gases. Earth is suitable for living because of how much oxygen it has. The two main gases in the atmosphere are nitrogen and oxygen. Planets like the moon don't have these gases therefor there isn't life on any of them. If Earth's atmosphere didn't have the gases that it does we wouldn't be living here today.

Space Exploration

The Science Of Rockets
NASA has used rockets to launch probes int space since the 1950's. The robots are mad eup of three stages in oreder to make it to space. The first stage, Atlas, uses solid-fuel bosters and liquid-fuel enigines to launch the satelite into space. The second stage known as Centaur, uses liquid-fuel engines to make sure it orbits in space corectly. The third stage is the payload, the payload which is the satalite or spacecraft carried up to space by the rocket. The Atlas rockets have been upgraded many times. They're used to go to planets and discovernew things about our solar system.

The Space Program
NASA has lanched many spacecrafts into space to study and learn more things about the moon. They have launched different ones for different things. Although they have upgraded the spacecrafts, things still have one wrong, like with Apollo 13, an oxegyn tank burst, but they were still sucessful with the things they brought back to earth from the moon.

Exploring Space Today
The ISS has a small robot called a "personal satelite assistant". It tells astronauts on the moon if something is going wrong or isn't right. It's powered by solar cells. It monitors temperature, pressure, and air quality. It has a video phone to help astronauts communicate wit each other and is linked to mission control on Earth.

Using Space on Earth
NASA wanted money to go to the Space Program and every dollar that was invested, the U.S. economy receives a seven dollar return in the form of job ivention, economic growth, and taxes. But, many people argued that the money could be used for many things that they needed. Some of these needed things are medical care

Seasons:Earth, Moon, And Sun Gizmo

In the gizmo Seasons: Earth, Moon, and Sun I learned about the seasons and why we have them and how the seasons change. The Earth's axis is not completely vertical, It's tilted a little. The seasons change when there's a lot of sunlight and when there's almost none at all. It's warmer in he summer because there is direct sunlight than in the winter when there's almost none at all. The seasons change while the earth orbits around the sun.

Zoom By Istvan Banyai

The book Zoom is about making inferences and predicting what’s going to happen next. When our class was looking at the book, we wrote down what we thought was going to happen next. Sometimes we were right and sometimes we were wrong. This book has a lot to do with perspective because you saw what the picture was and then thought of what would be added in the next picture.

Have you ever thought you were seeing something accurately but realized that, with a different perspective, you would see it differently? Well, it happened to me countless times when “reading” the book Zoom. I always thought I would be right…but of course it was something completely different. It happens all the time with everyone, everyday.

In the field of science, the data that I am gathering could be interesting to anyone. Astronomers study stars and planets far away. As we study astronomy, it’d be important to be aware of perspective because if you see something and you predict what’s going to happen but don’t know for sure it could mess up thing or experiments that you are doing/done.

Enigma Box

There are six important skills that scientists use. One of them is observing. They observe with their senses. When I was watching the Enigma Box activity I was using my senses by watching when the water came out of the tube and into the container. I could here the water getting higher. Also I predict things. I predicted that once the water was getting poured into the box that it would come out right away...but my prediction was wrong. It came out after there were 300 mLs in the box.
In the class demonstration I observed a few things. First is that the box could hold 300 mLs and then the water started to come out of the tube. it let out the water slowy at first and then faster at the end Also it sounded like a cup getting fuller when it gets filled up. it let the water out slowly at first and then faster at the end.
When i think of what the inside of the box looks like I think of something that everyone sees. The inside kinda reminds me of a toilet and once the box gets to a certain point it lets the water go. Just like when the water fills up in a toilet bowl, once it gets to a certain point it stop filling up with water.
In the Enigma Box activity there were many science skills that i have used. Inside the Enigma Box an interesting way of making the water come out. One end of the tubing is sticking out of the box and then inside of the box is a loop of tubing, the other end of tubing is placed at the very bottom of the box. When you fill up the box to a certain point it starts to go up the tube and then back down and then ut the other end. When the water level starts to go down the air pressure keeps pushing it down until the box and tubing is empty.
